Sports Anchors vs. Social Media Managers

Do we really need traditional sports anchors when Social Media Managers can better interact and inform the teams fan base. From a pure business perspective it does not compute that traditional media sources can best serve the future of Sports Teams. The time it takes traditional sources to reach people just cannot compete with Social Media time frames. The growth of Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin show they are a major contributor to this new media outlet.
